VAULT is a long way into the development process now but that process began many years ago. It all started in 2002 when my friend Sakarias Lindell and I both felt strongly that there was something missing in the world of gymnastics in Sweden.
We discussed this in depth and decided that a movie,
specifically meant to inspire gymnasts, was the way to go.
I was heavily into Martial Arts Tricks at that time and enjoyed many hours watching some amazing sampler films online. That also inspired me that making a movie was just what we all needed.
On October 1st, 2004 SALTOMORTALEZ had its premiere. The response was immediate. Some in the gymnastics community felt threatened but the vast majority loved it. In the next 3 hectic months we sold all our DVDs, and not just in Sweden. SALTOMORTALEZ was a global hit and our DVDs were shipped out to 24 different countries.
The whole of 2005 was spent doing live performances and events with the cast from SALTOMORTALEZ, all to excellent and appreciative audiences, all eager to see the team in live action.
I loved managing the team but, in my heart, I knew something was still missing. SALTOMORTALEZ’s success proved we were on the correct path, that the potential was massive, but I knew I wanted to reach more people. I had to take this further, to another level. Even on the day of the premiere I began thinking about making a new movie, better and more entertaining, and in 2006 Sakarias and I sat down once more to discuss the outlines for that new movie.
VAULT was beginning to take shape.
